European Go Federation
AIM
In the arrangements between the Ing Chang-Ki Educational
Foundation and the EGF it is specified that part of their support must be used
for projects that support:
When approving Ing grants the EGF Executive, taking advice from
the Education Commission, will give priority to projects that establish a long
term infrastructure for introducing the game of Goe in schools and teaching Goe
to children using Ing rules. Associations can alternatively request support for
other teaching events or promotional activities that aim to promote the Ing
rules. A request for Ing Goe material, 9x9 starter sets or demonstration boards
can be part of a proposal for an Ing project.
APPLICATIONS
An application for an Ing grant should be submitted by email to
the nominated member of Executive by an officer of an EGF member association. It
should contain:
Projects will be judged after the closing date for submissions
by the EGF Executive Committee based on contents and budget, and on
recommendations of the Education Commission. Extra information or assurances may
be requested before making a grant. A member association will not be granted
more than 5000 EUR in one year, including material granted.
CRITERIA
The following criteria will be taken into account when judging
the proposals:
Only costs related to the primary aim of the Ing Fund mentioned
above can be supported by an Ing grant. Financing from other sources is allowed,
as long as the primary conditions are not changed. If financial contributions
are received from other sources, they must be included in the budget. It is not
possible to cover labour costs from an Ing grant, so neither fees nor wages can
be paid to the teachers and their helpers. Legitimate expenses of the teacher,
such as travel costs, can be included. Costs of teaching material and promotion
material can be included.
After the execution of the project the following must be sent
to the nominated member of Executive:
If your request is granted, 80% of agreed funds will be
transferred as soon as possible. To ensure the payment it is essential that your
request includes all information of the bank account of your association:
The remaining 20% will be transferred after receiving the
report on the execution of the project as well as the financial statements. If
considered necessary, the EGF auditors can audit the financial statements. If a
report and financial statement is not received by the notified deadline, the EGF
Executive hold the right to withhold the final payment.
If the Ing project (or any part of the project) is not
executed, for whatever reason, the Ing grant (or the amount of the Ing grant
related to the part of the project that is not executed) will have to be
returned to the EGF. If the use of the grant is to be changed, then permission
should be obtained from the EGF Executive. Failure to comply with the financial
requirements described above can prejudice that member association's ability to
receive future Ing grants.
TEMPLATE OF THE BUDGET
EXPENDITURE INCOME Total expenditure and total income must balance. This means
that both amounts must be the same. ING MATERIAL
A number of sets of Ing Goe stones and Ing timers can be
requested. Sets of Ing Goe stones are in boxes of 6. Goe boards from Treygo may
also be purchased for use with the Ing Goe stones. 9x9 cardboard starter
sets (as made by the EGCC) are available. These cost about 1 euro and are ideal
for giving to beginners. Also a 9x9 or a 19x19 demonstration
board may be purchased. The EGF Executive is assisted by the EGCC in distribution of
these, but the EGCC has no power in making grants.
For the purpose of valuing a bid the value of a set of Ing Goe
stones is 15 euro and an Ing Timer 25 euro. Note that a box of 6 sets weighs 22
kg. Equipment that is granted may be collected from the EGCC or despatch to your
country can be arranged (a minimum weight of equipment may be applied when sets and
boards are dispatched).
DEADLINES
Applications will from 2004 be processed quarterly (4 times each year). EUROPEAN YOUTH PROJECT
Note that priority for funds and equipment will be given to projects that
are part of the European Youth Project, run in conjunction with the EGCC.
