I'm Emil H.J. Nijhuis and I'm 19 years old. At the moment I'm studying computer science at the University of Amsterdam. I play Go probably around 7 years now and I studied the game as in Insei in Japan for one year. Since about 2 years I'm teaching a lot to beginners but also to more advanced players. My current level is 5-dan in Europe.
It was Mr. Stefan Liesegang who inspired me to create IEGM. The aim of the magazine is to collect all go-related articles in any european language. I believe that there are a lot of go-articles out there which were not read yet from interested readers. Via the magazine it would be easier to find the articles.

Thanks to them the magazine has "real" interactive go-content. Flash movies are recently getting very popular amoung the internet-community. Flash movies are a fantastic way of teaching go via the internet (for beginners but also for more advanced players). Olivier is thinking about creating a tool which would make compiling flash movies easy for everyone. But since such a project would take about a month a sponsor is needed. Interested people can contact him or me.

Robert sended me 8 articles, so actually there could be twice as many articles on this edition. Unfortunately I was unable to compile them until now, since they implemented a lot of work. I hope I'll have them ready for the next edition

The Interactive European Go Magazine is a website which will supply people on the Internet with Go-articles. The site will be freely accessible to anybody. The site is non profitable, although I hope to get sponsors in the future to pay authors and other contributors.

Copyright of articles:

The copyright of the articles will remain in the hands of the authors, by submitting me an article the author of the article allows me to publish the article in the magazine and store it in the database. If for any reason the author doesn't want the magazine having his or her articles anymore I will remove them. By submitting me an article the author also allows me to edit the article in a for the magazine suitable way. I'll promise not to change any contents of the article doing this.
