History

The organization was formed early 1977 with the purpose to promote Go in Norway. Here we have compiled some of its history. By following this link you will also find some information on when people started playing Go in Norway as well as how it developed and the current status.

Clubs and Players

There are only a few Go clubs in Norway, and Oslo Go Club is the major one. A few places also have Go groups. In the list of clubs you will find names of contact persons for both clubs and groups.

Events

The major Go event of the year is the Norwegian Championship. This tournament usually takes place at the end of October. The results from this year as well as some information on the major Scandinavian tournaments have been collected into our list of events

There is now a vast amount of Go related information available on the Internet. Here is a list of pointers to some of all this material. We have included pointers to documents stating the rules of Go and to documents explaining how you can play Go on the Internet.
